what happened to your eyes
they changed their color
and when did your smile
become so much smaller

why can’t i see
like i could before
where is the switch
where is the door

i can’t move my hands
and my body feels cold
but how could this happen
i did what i was told

i cooked you your meal
i made you feel nice
but now i lay down here
without any lights

please open my eyes
i just want to see
i’ll forgive your lies
i’ll move over seas

we can be happy
or we can be apart
i just want to see
one more work of art

or give me a rainbow
or even clear skies
hell give me dog shit
all covered in flies

give me darkness
with just a little light
fine, give me nothing
just make it bright

i want to see, or hear
or touch, or hold
i just don’t want
the smell of mold

please pick me up
i seem to be weak
if you could dear
carry me to the sink

i just need some water
i’m not feeling so hot
please keep me cool
so i don’t begin to rot

i can forgive you
if you find a way
rig up a machine
to give me another day

if you can undo this
then we can move on
just don’t leave me here
without the lights on
